You are probably wondering what Valentine's Day, Christmas lights and a green lifestyle have to do with each other. Valentine's Day is usually a time when many pop the ultimate question to the love of their life. However, a few tips wouldn't hurt in terms of setting the stage and getting everything ready, especially if both of you adhere to a green lifestyle.

The first thing you need to do is set the stage. Your initial thought may be to invite her to an expensive restaurant and fall on one knee. However, you may find she will enjoy a private setting more, especially if you went to a little trouble to make it look perfect. Remember that mood lighting is key and the best way to achieve the perfect glow is with LED Christmas lights. They are environmentally friendly and come in so many shapes and colors that you can create an amazing look for the evening.

You just need a bit of creativity and to remember that she will appreciate the gesture, even if the result isn't perfect. There are LED Christmas lights that are shaped like doves, rosebuds and other dainty flowers, or even hearts. All of these make a great option to create a romantic setting where you can propose to the one you love.

Of course, you need to plan in advance whether you want to serve dinner or not. For example, you can create a lovely fairytale evening in your own garden with plenty of LED Christmas lights everywhere to give the impression of fairies flitting about. A table with nice linens and some soft, romantic music in the background will make it one of the most memorable nights of her life.

If you want to go the whole nine yards then try and convince one of your friends to serve dinner or hire a caterer for the evening. Of course, the latter option is the best but that is only if your budget allows. However, she will definitely enjoy being waited on hand and foot. But what she will appreciate even more is the fact that you believe she deserves it and she is that important to you. So, remember, even a single strand of LED Christmas lights will show that you care.

Now, we must not forget what living a green lifestyle entails. LED Christmas lights are perfect for this because they require little power, in comparison to incandescent lights, and have a much longer life span. This means that you don't have to replace them as often which means that the quantities that need to be produced are much lower. Thus, their carbon footprint is negligible compared to their incandescent counterparts.

Other things you should consider for a green proposal is to make sure that all the food being served is local and organic, make sure any other decorations are also environmentally friendly, such as using silk or dried flowers. However, as long as you give it your best shot, she will be impressed and appreciate the gesture. Just remember that LED Christmas lights can save you a lot of trouble.

We recently went to a restaurant where our table was lit by the small Christmas lights - it was cozy and we could still see each other and the food. Good idea!

Yea, there are dozens of great alternative uses for Christmas lights. As a matter of fact we had a 60th birthday for my father in law last year and we put these really neat LED lights all around the patio and they gave off a really cool warm summers night vibe.
